AMR GRANDCHALLENGE

Achieving breakthroughs on Antimicrobial Resistance treatments & diagnostics

WHAT IS AT
STAKE ?

Discovered almost a century ago, antibiotics have saved countless lives and revolutionized medicine. But antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is making those antibiotics less efficient, and no major discoveries have been made in the last decades. An estimated 700,000 people lose their live every year due to AMR, and this number could skyrocket to 10 million in 2050.

We need new treatments and new diagnostics to tackle AMR, the silent pandemic. This is a One Health global issue.

>WHAT IS THE GRANDCHALLENGE ABOUT

The Joint European Disruptive Initiative, the European ARPA,
will launch scientific & technology Challenges around:

Starting soon, we will be welcoming all proposals from the best teams globally that can provide solutions to one of the 6 Challenges listed above.

We will then finetune specific JEDI Challenges with highly-ambitious metrics for success, that should be launched in 2023.
